Fuel pump relay

Fuel pump relay
So I'm trying to find out whats going to what on this harness so I can connect it to my 67.. according to all the diagrams I've seen, the fuel pump is on the passenger side harness near the front.. I played iwth it and a multimeter for hours (Days, halfassedly).. yeah, it's not there.. that was the a/c relay.. Stupid wrong diagrams.. Which is strange, because only the a/c relay is there (donor car didn't have a/c either).. fuel pump relay is nowhere to be seen.. I've heard from some people that the fuel relay is underneath a seat.. How is it plugged into the efi harness? the diagrams I'm looking at http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/t...MainHarness.gif
show it where I was looking for it. And hte other diagrams don't show a location, just circuits. Does it plug in somewhere to the harness, and if so, where? According to the diagrams I've been reading there should be 2 wires that jumps from EEC relay to fuel pump relay, to WAC relay (One of them anyways). How would that work in this harness system? Thanks guys

RE: Fuel pump relay
Ahh, this must be an 86-91 harness then, as it's nowhere to be found. Plugs into the green underdash square socket I take it? I'm going to use a bosch relay I suppose. Anyone know how Ford's stupid relay plug numbers translate to bosch (86, 87, etc?).. Thanks

RE: Fuel pump relay
Thanks a lot man! Do you know how those translate to ford 1,2,3,4 connectors? So 86 is ground (?) which would be wire 22? Pin 87 would be 19. 30 would be wire 1, and 85 would be pin 37? I'm mildly confused as to what is what and really don't want to get this backwards. I can't find the real Ford relay around here (probably better of that way, monitarily at least). I'm really not sure about what is relay ground and what is trigger (I assume it's tan/green and red, but I could be very wrong) and black/orange is highpower in I guess, and 87 is back to the ecm (pnk/black)? I'm lost. hot damn this is confusing.. thanks a lot

RE: Fuel pump relay
Sure....check the relay diagram below....
1 & 2 are the coil terminals (85 & 86)....and they can be interchanged with no problems....the coil will work.
3 = 30
4 = 87
5 = not used
You have the correct wires id'ed.
You could also use an accesory relay (the gray ones) sold at any of the big chain auto parts, it will need to be fitted to the OEM green FP relay socket though, but it works......or buy the relay with a replacement socket with pigtail.....that's how I repair them.

RE: Fuel pump relay
Thanks a lot man!! I appreciate that. I have a few bosch relays here, some with the pigtails (Those ones I pulled off a grandam).. I can't get any specs online but I'm going to assume they're 30 amps? 12077864 is the number on em.. I typed it into napaautoparts.com under the "Non-napa number" and it listed just about every usage, so.. Thanks!!
