Looking at a car, need info on '93
1993 Mustang LX V8
2 Door Hatchback
Engine: V8 5.0 Liter
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 130,000
Features: Air Conditioning; Power Steering, Windows, Door Locks, Driver Seat; Cruise Control; AM/FM Stereo Cassette; Front Side Air Bags; Alloy Wheels, FlowMaster Exhaust
Viper Car Alarm w/ 2 key fobs
2 - 8" JL Audio bass speakers in speakerbox
4 Aquatread Tires (<8,000 miles of use)
Anything I should know about this car? What is the stock hp/torque/weight?
What mods would you recommend doing first with this car?

Very nice car. The Horsepower rating is 215HP and 275ft/lbs Stock, and weighs about 3,000lbs.
As for the first thing I would do. Do a tune up on the car. New Plugs and plug wires, cap and rotor, coil, fuel filter, and an oil change, that way you know that it is all freshly replaced.
Mods huh. Well it is basically the same as my car accept mine is a GT and I have forged pistons while you have the hyp. pistons. I would do gears first, since you already have exhaust, if you dont have headers and an H-pipe get those as well. For the next mod I would do under drive pulleys, and a CAI.
For some good general ed. on these cars such as suspension, drivetrain and standard features, take a look at http://www.mustanggt.org

I would want to know how the previous owner(s) used it and how they drove, be it mainly city or highway miles or if a young guy owned it or a little old lady. how did they do routine maintenance on it like oil changes and tune ups, etc. I would also do a compression test to see how well the piston rings and valves are sealing too.

The 93's are the first year not to use forged pistons, so you may want to look into previous years, although I have a 93 and it has a lot of modern options like power everything. I like my 93 a lot, the forged pistons dont make a differance to me considering I am replacing the entire engine.
Sounds like a good buy, were you looking for auto or 5spd, not sure if your settling for the auto. 130k miles does sound like a bit much too. If the guy wants more than 4,000 for it, then I would walk away. Maybe even more than 3500 would be too much.

actually, the guy is asking for 3100 obo
I was gonna offer 2500
I know a guy that has a 91 with only 12k. Garage kept, never seen rain, underside of the car shines like it's new. He's done a little bit of suspension upgrades and gears. He's askin $6000 for it.

mustangs are so cheap everywhere else. to me thats a steal, especially the one for 6k. i paid 5000 for my 89lx plus ive dumped another 1500 or so in it, I like it though and it hauls a**. It had a lot of mods when i bought it so I still came out b/c i couldnt have built it for that

yea def get the 91, thats a deal. my 93 gt wit 80k miles cost me 6k which i knew was high but they originally wanted 7500 so i went for it. but that 91 is a great deal if ur sure it has only 12k and not 112k
