Default newb questions

hello everyone.

sorry that my first post is a few over asked questions but i could use some help fast. i have to say you guys have a HUGE forum. i have a chance to buy a '90 5.0 with 93k for about $3000. the only problem is i would never purchase a car without doing research, so here come the newbie questions. once i get a chance to see the car what are some things i should look for? what are the most common problems with this car? and what are some of the best upgrades (cost to benefit). if you have anything else to add to a kid that doesnt know much about 5.0's id be grateful. thank you all for your patience with a 5.0 newb, all your answers will be appriciated. i'm searching and reading more about the car right now.

heres the link to the car. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...QQcmdZViewItem

bolt on as in not taking days to install or taking extreme percautions. as for the rust mentioned exactily how bad is that? im 17(birthday today) and this car seems like a real nice deal, but if you say the rust is serious and will be problamatic how are repairs on that area?
