Replaced alot. Still crappy brakes! HELP!!!
I've been working on the brakes on my mustang. So far I've replaced the booster, mastercylinder, and front brake lines. I've bled the whole system throughly, front and rear. But my pedal still goes about 3/4 the way down before the brakes really grab[:@]. I adjusted the booster rod out to where the mastercylinder sits about a 1/4in. from the booster before I bolt it down. Should the rod be adjusted out further? Please help. This is starting to suck. I've put $125 in it all and the damn thing still doesn't work right. I need the car to stop before I can make it go faster.

Yep... that sounds like my problem. My e-brake doesn't hold until it's all the way up. I'll check 'em out after I cool off. Damn it's hot outside today! My booster was definately part of the problem. At least I got some brakes now. I hope it never goes out again. Man.. It was a pain in the *** to get off!!!!!!!!!!

take the tire off while your adjusting. once you reach the spot where the drum stops itself after 1/2 to 1 full revolution after you spin it, they are perfect.

While we are the subject of brakes, can a hung up caliper cause a build up of air, or could the build up of air caude my caliper to not release completely.

did not think so, but I figured I would ask, time for 73 mm calipers a new hard line for one side, some one spliced it, and my flexible lines are shot also, they look original.

good way to tell if the rubber lines are good is to squeeze them a bit with a pair of pliers. they shouldn't be terribly stiff, and you should be able to bend it almost in half.
