why does the bird roast the tires and chirp into secon and my gt wont chirp second? its like that auto locks right the hell up at wot and the car doesnt have posi, and it has like 150hp!! wtf??

Your the first person I've everheard ofthat there 305 bird can spin the tires (not joking). Those 305's are dogs in stock form. They can be build up don't get me wrong but a 305 is not power machine.

As for you gt, its propably had a hard life. Everything had just had a lot of wear and tear over the past 21 years.

Gears maybe? What ratios are you running? With the right gearing I could make a Briggs and Stratton chirp the tires.

Sounds like there is something wrong with your mustang. What's the tranny gearing and the ring and pinion gearing in both cars? What kind of torque converter or what stall rating? Also what kind of tires and how's the tread on both of them. The torque converter in the AOD will only lock up in 3rd and OD.

well they both have pretty good tires , the bird has no cat and 4barrell stock its rated at 150hp@4k and 240ft#s at 2400 with 3.08 gears the stang is 2.73 gears w/posi, theres no aod involved here,lol

well you'd better make that two then!!!! cause I had a 89 with tbi fuel injection and it would break the tires loose and bark 2nd hard but it also had a b&m shift kit in it ....it shifted so hard into second one time at the track it broke the tranny mount....no joke!! and it only ran 16.4's at 83 mph[:'(]

You saying you can't break the tires loose with a 5 speed? Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with your car if that's the case... A stock 5-speed 5.0 will turn tires almost forever... To the point that mine is pointless to try to "launch".

Yeah, I had to add my sub woofer, box and two amps just to get some traction, it sucks since it slowed me down but I can even burn them off is first, but second likes to stay planted on the ground now a days, I do have 3.73's though.

chirping into second is not a good thing it sux cause ur loosing traction. and u cant burn the tires with ur 5.0l thats sad somethings wrong. i have a 92 fbody and it doesnt chirp into second. my 5.0l burns rubber good

sometimes i wonder if anyone reads, my stang will roast em but i never chirp shifting into second on the t5; the firebird does and its auto so i was wondering why it gets loose in second and its auto, seems it should be less likely and it make 50hp less and less torque too. it shift hella hard but no shift kit
