RE: easy dumb ?
part sticking up face forward you'd find out it may not fit if you tried it the opposite way[&:]

RE: easy dumb ?
well i tried it with this fitting forward and it didnt fit right...mine has a gold knob like thing on the back i didnt think it would go towards the engine? so this part in this pic is the front?

RE: easy dumb ?
yes the bulky gold part faces back fits inside the intake part

RE: easy dumb ?
dang...thanks man...ne reason why miune didnt fit that way?
|
RE: easy dumb ?
those are the bulky high performance ones and sometimes they have fitment issues they are for improved flow capacity.... a good Stant t-stat should work fine.

RE: easy dumb ?
well i just turned it around and after i turned it a little it slid right in....thanks for the help!!

RE: easy dumb ?
I really don't think that that is the cause of your OVERheating! With no T-stat at all the temp will be hard pressed to even get warm. The t-stat's function is to allow the engine to come up to temp quicker for combustion effiency and so it will make heat in the winter. It also keeps the temp at a fairly constant value by opening and closing via the sensor bulb and bi-metal strip. Runing without one will not cause your car to overheat. If it overheats without the t-stat , you have other issues.

RE: easy dumb ?
What exactly was done to the engine? I'm thinking you have problems elsewhere.
|
RE: easy dumb ?
Yeah, it's not the t-stat. Either a clog, wrong waterpump, or too small a radiator, etc.
