Really? Hypertech it better? Can anyone give us a little more info on the chip, performance, price, reliability?
All of those chips are junk. If you are going to add any more mods in the near future do not waste your money on a chip.

a PMS OR TWEECER..THESE CAN STAY WITH THE CAR THE WHOLE TIME YOU MOD... with a laptop with real time data it's a great tuning tools. it's better than a dyno as you see real world affects .I know of no chip that can give you 25% hp increase.....not in a gas car

I don't agree, they have dyno results to back up what they sell. I can tell you this, it made my car run quite a bit stronger.

You might want to watch hourespower tv my friend, they did one of those hypertech plug in jobs on an LS1 camaro, where it plugs into the diagnostic port and replaces the stock programming. Guess what?? It picked up a ****load of horsepower, oh yeah I'm pretty sure an LS1 runs on gas.

I can prove anything on a dyno inwhich most would know that it is BS. IE raise timeing on the dyno to show better gains. For a stock car that might be the way to go, but if you are ever going to mod the car in the future those are junk. I agree wih vfast on the PMS or Tweecer if you know how to tune properly, I do not so I have a custom chip with a SCT tune on my Cobra. Don't believe everything you see on TV. Those guys are being sponsered so they will not make the product look bad.

Interesting outlook, so when you buy a chip, do you have to specify your mods? Just curious.

The chips you are talking about are just set for a non/modded-lightly modded car correct. I see how they avertise up to 25% more HP, but they are preprogrammed unless you get the tuner pad with it, which jumps the price way up there. Im trying to learn about these myself. Then there are just the $20 dollar chips which only increase timing and somehow fool the computer that the air temp is always 60 deg or whatever. sorry just babbling. could i get a basic rundown on operation without the salespitch?

Yes they will want to know everything all the way to your gear ratio, but like I said I would not buy a chip unless 1st you have a built motor,or a power adder on a stock motor and have it done on a dyno. The difference in mail order is big. With a JMS mail order chip my car made 331rwhp/357rwtq. Changed to a SCT chip and dyno tune and my car jumped to 417/433

That would be nice, but I can't seem to find one for my 1990 LX, now 95 and newer...pick a part number and there it is.
