high RPM's are what run the pan dry. It sounds to me like you have excessive bearing clearences. I had the same issue. I was loosing pressure on my stock gauge at idle it would sit at the bottomand it would go betweenA andL at 4k RPMs I pulled the motor, put plastigauge on the main and rod journals and found out that I needed a rebuild. I then noticed that a couple of my bearing journals on the crankshaft were very rough so I ended up having the motor completly rebuilt and bored over. (the cylinders had excessive wear also) Now at idle my oil pressure is at the O and R and I am using the stock pump.

Do you think I am wasting my time with a bearing and pump job when it could probably benefit from machining (which I cant get done at the moment)? Obviously, I can't say for sure what it needs until I get in there.

I'm going to forget the cam for now and just get replacement lifters before I spend $500 on a roller setup, on account of I don't know if my engine is completely fubar yet.
Thanks for the input.

Will this: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...part=SUM-G1060 work with an air powered die grinder, or only an electric drill like it states?

it might fit in an air powered die grinder...depends on the chuck size.....the main problem when porting stuff with an air die grinder is that your air compressor will run non-stop...been there done that!! best to use an electric powered tool as it's more consistent and isn't dependent on availible air pressure. but you'll need something that'll spin at high rpm's to port with.

atleast you're lucky you didnt order that cam, my buddy already had it for a few months and was charged a restocking fee and shipping, he was about to install it when I noticed it was the wrong one
