Default A/C Tech question (Simple I swear)

Where does the Orfice tube go? I bought the car and the ****face that owned it before me tried to "clean" the engine by removing all of the "power robbers" well the removed all of the AC stuff accept the compressor and I just finished the rebuild and now its time to put the AC back in. I have ALL new components (condenser, hoses, compressor, Filter Drier) and I dont know where the Orfice tube goes because obviously I didnt remove it. I have seen them go at the condenser, I have seen them at the compressor, and I have seen them between the Filter Drier and the evaporator. I just need to know the location and the direction it faces.

some of the later mustangs came with the orifice tobe preinstalled in the condensor to accumulator hose ....meaning it was non serviceable unless you cut it out of that section of hose and installed a union......this is easily identified on the hose by a precrimped metal spot and buldge

well then I will go look at all my hoses that I bought. Literally everything is BRAND new. I just spent over 1800 on engine rebuild and A/C components.

if it's preinstalled on a hose it should be the one that runs from the condensor along passanger frame rail to accumulator.

on the liquid line there is a section that has a metal crimped end, then about a 4 inch section of black rubber hose (its bendable so there is not a orfice tube in the black rubber part), then another metal crimped end. is the orfice tube in the rubber hose part or is it in the metal line?

The metal line, that is what my buddy told me, he works at the ford dealership, If I replace mine, I am just going to order a new pipe with the orifice in it.
