What does it sound like when you are trying to start it? Does it sound like it is ready to turn over or like it has no compression?

yah thats pretty much it, but if you were 180* out it probably wouldn't even fire, unless you advanced or retarded the crap out of it.
Yea, so where does that leave me?

Reason I replaced the TFI is because somebody on I here or stang net posted up a troubleshooting guide, and it said for my symptoms it could either be the TFI, the ignition switch, or the coil I think. It said if it was the TFI, to have somebody turn over the car, and right when it fires, pull the lil connecter off the starter solonoid that's like it's slid over a lil bolt. Then it says to keep holding the ignition switch in the starting position, and if it keeps running it's I forget, either the coil or ignition switch or something..

I dunno hopefully that helped some, or just made you as confused as I am[&:]

Well I just tried again, I can't physically get the distrbutor in there with the 0* mark on the dizzy lining up with the mark on the block. It's hitting on the coolant temp sensor and part of the intake mani. I just can't get it to go in there. And I'm positive it's not 180 off. Shouldn't it atleast start and stay starting if I got it within 10*? When I first got the car they have the timing over 10* off and it still ran. Any suggestions? Can I set the motor at 10*, and then put the dizzy in lining up the 10* mark with the mark on the block?
