Default will 7.5" brakes fit on the 8.8" rear end?

hey all i have a set of brakes for the 7.5" that was in my86. but i am getting a 8.8" and i was wondering if the shoes, springs, and drums will work?

lol, i know i haven't seen this floating around either. like i have these ncie rear brake setup and i dont know what to do with them, so i thought i might as well ask if anyone knew.

i guess i will have to try it to see.

i was told from another forum, that they shoukld bolt on. the guy told me to bolt everything with the backing plate. so i am not to sure if i have to use the backing plate, cuz its gone.

just for anyone thats interested, i was notified that the rear breaks will work with the 8.8" backingplate. so it'll all bolt in, thanks guys.

Yup, they work fine. If you hang them up out of the way while doing the swap, you dont even need to bleed them when you're done.

So when doing a 3.8 to a 5.0 swap, swapping the rear end and leaving the brakes is ok?

yes, even on the sn95 cars the rotors, calipers, pads and brackets are all the same between the 7.5 and the 8.8
