Son of a....
I was cruising down the highway the other day, and all of a sudden, I lost oil pressure. Pump locked up, broke the shaft, and torched the bottom end bearings. It is too freaking cold out, so I had a buddy work on it, and after all was said and done, $1200 to do all the work, and buy all the parts. He also put my new slotted rotors on, and Green Stuff brake pads. [IMG][/IMG]

331 stroker, 13.1 compression, big lumpy cam, 75mm TB, headers, bbk X-pipe, flowmaster 40 series, edelbrock performer heads with $2k in machine work, victor intake, 4:10 rear, Tremec trans. That's just a start to it.

yea but you were cruising on the highway, in a car that takes race gas to operate? what do you run in it with 13.1 compression, 110 leaded? is that your daily driver? he also says he has a s**t load of machine work put into it so he probably has some very manly valves that could flow all that power.

ive heard of people running like 14:1 on pump gas. read in a 5.0 magazine somewhere but the guy was a professional engine builder and knew wtf he was doing.

I usually run about 3 gallons of race gas per fill up. I keep a big can at home. If I am short, I'll put 3 bottles of octane bost to about 8 gallons of 93/94 octane. I am actually driving daily right now because I am in the middle of an engine swap in my Maxima. [IMG][/IMG]
