Default brake booster

So after 5 months sittin on jack stands I finally got my 88 gt back on the road and now the brakes suck worse than ever. Bled em, new shoes out back, stainless lines all around new pads. Now, if i slam on the brakes i hear a hissing from the booster tellin me there a hole in it.
The question I have is hasany one used the brake booster eliminatorfrom summit?

I really don't want to have to drop 100+ bucks on a new booster or finda used one that could possiblybe busted also and then screw around under the dash againwhich is a major PITA. I have driven cars with manual brakes before but i have never seen a power brake system converted to manual and still use the stock master cyl.
What does every1 think?

It takes a lot of pressure to activate disc brakes properly, thats why they have power assist. I'd get a booster, just so you aint ripping your steering wheel off trying to slow her down!

Iwas lookin at getting the 93 cobra brake booster b/c it would help improve braking and its like 130 for one of those.
But i saw this so i was just wondering if anyone has used that to eliminate the booster and if the brakes actually worked half decent or if it just a piece of crap and just available for peopleto waste 65 bucks on.

Not sure the cobra brake booster will gain you a whole lot, but if you plan on bigger brakes, it prob. wouldn't hurt.

i eventually plan on swapping 95 gt spindles and rear brakes.ive read that the 93 cobra booster is the same size as the 95 gt's and has the same bolt pattern to the firewall as my stock 88 so thats the plan i guess.

Still very interested if anyone as done the manual brakes by just eliminating the booster. Any thoughts?
