Default egr removal bet

my freind just got a rustang and thinks he knows everything. He says to take off the egr you have to have your computer taken out and reflashed or it wont run. I told him all you had to do was do the three resistor trick and you dont have to reflash the ecu but he bet me 50 bux you HAVE to. So i took his bet. Whos right or wrong? lol

You just earned yourself $50. Your friend is an idiot, LoL. You can get a chip and reset the EGR scalar to "2" to shut it off, but it's easier to just plug in the resistors. Or if that's too ugly, then you can buy an eliminator that does the same thing, but puts it in a fancy little package.

No. There are a few ways to do it actually.

1) Just leave the stock EGR plugged in but dieconnected from the TB.

2) Get a chip and stick it in the J3 port of the ecu

3) Get a tuner like a Tweecer or PMS and shut it off manually by reprogramming the ecu

4) Use the three-resistor trick

5) Buy an "EGR eliminator" and plug that into the sensor harness.
