RE: non ford auto problem help me if you can
is each coil pack seperate? so you can replace 1 by 1? i cant remember...
but if that's the case, buy a code reader from autozone. $30-40. read your own codes.
if its a solid light now, it will probably be a misfire code.
read it, clear it.
move the coil pack from that cylinder to another one, switch 'em out.
fire it up.
when/if the code comes back, read it.
if the misfire moved with the coil, well there ya go.

Try www.w-body.com for tech help.
I know that when the intake gaskets and/or plenum go bad on these motors the car misfires and is often hard to diagnose.
It happened to my father's '97 Cutlass Supreme. He took it to 3 different shops and the last one was able to fix it right by replacing the intake gasket.

Im not sure if this applies to the 3.4 but I know for a fact that some 3.1 engines with the plastic intakes are prone to cracking. Theyve gotten so bad MOST auto parts stores STOCK the intake kit. You might want to call the dealer and see if this applies to your car. If it does then it would be a TSB or warranty issue which would more than likely mean free service and parts.
