smog control for 5.0
 

Hi, maybe this is a silly question but I am in the middle of putting together my 5.0 and want to know if I need all that smog control stuff such as smog air pump and emissions valves, will the car run right with out that stuff?

I just recently pulled all my smog stuff out when I installed a set of bassani headers. My car has run just fine ever since.

and how hard is it to pass w/o the stuff, or should i keep it and slap it in there for inspection

My smog pump got removed last week and I sold it.
I dont need that crap on my car.
I did keep the EGR hooked up though.

the egr does help keep combustion temperatures low when you are cruising. It does help a little bit with highway MPG... it closes when you go WOT so it really does you no performance good to get rid of it... actually if you do and don't tune it to go without, you could have some pinging problems on light throttle.

they do f*cking everything, visual and all. its even hard to pass with everything stock sometimes.
