Default Oil Leak

I just recently started to leak oil, and it drips down onto my Exhaust maniflod and causes it to smoke. It never did this before i changed to oil over to Royal Purple, could the Purple be causing my leak???? Im getting kinda of pissed about it[:@]

the oil didn't cause the leak, it just found it and exploited it is all. probably need to check the tightness of the valve cover bolts as I'll bet they have worked loose on you.

hey man, my car had the same exact problem. I kept tightening the valve cover, and it would work for a while, but then it would leak again. I just ended up replacing the valve cover and fixed the problem. Try Roundman's idea first, but you may end up having to replace it.

Yeah whenever you change to a synthetic oil with a motor that has some miles on it. It will find any area to get out.

should i just change the valve cover gaskets? would that fix it, because sitting at a stop light and having you car smoke like a damn fireplace isn't to cool. and it is pissing me off, i cant park in the garage anymore because it will set off the smoke detector

I think its the valve cover gasket and get a pair of 93 gaskets because they arent cork and they are resuable if you are planning on doing anymore mods
