Default Electric Fan Install Help

So almost finished installing an electric fan (made by Interactive Systems & Technologies) and all is well minus I can't figure out where to put the temp sensor. Their intsrtuctions say it goes into the "water neck". Either by screwing it in, or tapping a whole to screw it in. I found what I believed to be the right spot... with plug and everything.. then the threaded sensor they provided was a bit too big for the threads the plug came out of. Any ideas or previous experience? Am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks!

I dunno. The only plug I could find that looked possibly correct was near the bottom passenger side corner of the radiator on the inside. A black plastic unscrewable plug. Was gonna try to swap it with this temp sensor (the idea was quickly without fully draining the rad... =) and it didn't fit. Sensor is slightly to big.

Sensor looks to be made of bronze, maybe a quarter inch of threads and apx 1/2 inch diameter at the threads.

I'm almost to the point of wiring a manual switch....

what I'm seeing is right where the top radiator hose attaches to the thermostat there's an elbow with un-threaded hole on top of it. I'm wondering if they gave me this tap to use on that hole.

is that the same neck you're talking about?

sounds like your trying to put it in the radiator drain plug, that is not a good idea. you need to put it in the water neck or the intake manifold.

How long is the temperature probe. I really couldn't say if that is where it is supposed to be installed, but for a man to just drill and tap a 1/2" hole in one of his radiator tanks is just unheard of around my house. IfI had to guess, with out seeing it with my own eyes, I would say yes, drill out the water neckat the front of the intake at that boss you're talking about and thread it there. Make sure your drill bit matches your tap, take it easy tapping that neck.
