Default transmission install question

After putting my transmission back on I cant get it to sit flush to the bellhousing. Is there any tricks/tips to getting it to line up?

Did youalignthe clutch and pressure plate, if not it will never go together. Or if it just won't go in try rolling the tailshaft with it in gear to turn the input shaft untill you feel it drop in place and have someone ready there with a bolt to put in.

You can start the bellhousing to trans bolts but don't use them to draw in the mixer. If you can get them started a couple of threads then it'll allow you to get the mixer sutuated a bit more then you can sort of draw it in with the bolts. THere shouldn't have to a lot of force if you're using them to draw it in.

I used the clutch alignment tool... will the tranny go in within a 1/4 inch of the bellhousing if they are not aligned properly?

ignore ALL of the suggestions given in this thread.... have someone step on the clutch pedal as you slide the tranny the rest of the way in.

How does it work if the clutch pedal is not hooked up to anything? That is a good thing to know, I wish I had known that when I put my tranny in.
