Default 302 w 11.1 Compression Ration In Florida

Hey im thinking of switching my pistons up for some high compression pistons that should yield around 11.1 ratio. Will that be ok on pump gas without detonation? I'm in Flordia... Also what about the timing does that change at all or can I keep it around 14-15 advanced? I'm blew my first block up and now im hot tanking boring and honong a new one and I dont have the funds to stroke it but I can get some domed forgde al pistons for around $350.00 anyone know anything about this or anyone know where I can get a tight 347 kit cheap?

11:1 isn't going to work to well with pump gas. If you cam has a lot of overlap and bleeds of a lot of compression you could be fine. Also dome top pistons aren't going to work with your twisted wedges to well unless they are designed for twisted wege heads.

I wouldn't do 11:1 with pump gas, you MAY be able to get it to work with the right heads and tune, but the first time you get some gas that's not quite the octane it's supposed to be, you're in trouble.

No, a thousand times..........
I don't really think there will be much more power with a dome top piston at 11 ratio anyway...........
No matter what gas you use..........

You can do 11 to 1 no problem on pump gas as long as you have aluminum heads I have 58 cc afr aluminum heads and .200 dome pistons yielding 10.9 to 1 and let me tell you it'll blow my 9 to1 92 stang out of the water and both are built engines never had a problem with detonation and I have the total advance set to 34 degrees anyway just an idea

Sweet thats what I thought it would be ok as long as I run 93 octane all the timew which isnt a problem... I have TFS aluminum heads and the pistons are notched accordingly for the TW heads becasue there not inline heads. I'm staying N/a and with the higher comp ratio it should put me at about 450HP with the setup I'm running.
