Default Summit high capacity water pump

Has anyone used the Summit brand high capacity water pump? I'm having trouble keeping this blown motor cooled off in these hot and dry Colorado summers. I'm still using the 195 degree t-stat which I will swap over to a 180, but if that doesn't keep things cooled down enough for me I'll probably invest some money in a new, better flowing pump. Here's the one that I'm looking at:

I'm also going to try and do a real coolant flush with our BG flush machine and add some BG supercool. Thanks for any help guys!

BG makes good equipment. I love the coolant flusher. Their motorvac and p/s flush is pretty trick, too.

as for the high volume pump, i wouldn't see why it would be necessary. a 180 stat and a good fan, it should be fine.
also try and make the cooling system a bit smaller by eliminating the heater core and TB coolant lines.

I've gotthe blackmagic xtreme fan which really moves a lot of air (3300 cfm). The TB cooling lines have been eliminated and actually I'll turn the vent on heat when the temperature gauge starts climbing and it'll keep it cooled off, so I'll leave the heater core hoses connected.

Most of our flush and service machines are BG except for the brake lathe and the A/C machine. We had a snap-on a/c machine which sucked horribly, we just traded it in for a new one but I can't remember at the moment who it's made by, I know that our Cornwell dealer dropped it off. Our brake lathe is also a snap-on product and it's the biggest piece of **** ever, I wish that my boss would trade that thing in also. Oh well, I'll be out of this shop and in school on the 27th.

When all my engine mods were done which included a new high flow pump my car still ran hot. Installed a 3 core radiator and temp came down to acceptable range. I'm going to add an electric fan soon because it's still on the edge. Since it's been so hot this summer I've had to stay on top of coolant level.

Yes it is larger but it still mounted with the stock retainer brackets. I forgot to mentionI was running a Summit high flow with the stock radiator and still had problems. The radiator upgrade solvedthe problem. I installed anEdlebrock about 2 weeks ago.

I've got a brass 3 row radiator which really cooled things down when I was N/A. Hopefully this 180 degree t-stat does the trick. I had one in it before but I thought that the t-stat was giving me running issues with my computer so I switched it out with my original 195. I guess we'll see.

I have used a bottle of water wetter with great sucess. of lowering the temp 5 degrees average, and the taurus fan keeps me very cool on 100 degree farh days.

It doesn't over heat, it's just not running as cool as it would N/A.
