Default clutch adjustment

Help,my clutch lets out at the end of pedal travel.I understand how to adjust the clutch from the quadrant but that is still not working. I know i need a new clutch but i need it to last a few more weeks. i have easy on it but is there a way to tighten it down underneath without messing it up. I know where the cable attaches to the clutch and there is a nut that looks like you can move. My buddy told me not to mess with.

Do you have an adjustable cable (hence the nut) and broken/aftermarket quadrant? If so, perhaps you SHOULD touch that nut... My stock cable was non-adjustable.

Anyhow... Tightening the nut will engage the clutch sooner in pedal travel. Don't go crazy here... Try a little at a time (1 or 2 turns at most each time). You don't want the pressure plate to be partially disengaged when your foot is not on the clutch.

I don't remember anything like that... Can you take a picture of what you're talking about?

you may need to pull the cable off of the fork depending on how tight it is but, yes tighten them, it will bring your release point closer to the floor. Make sure you tighten that jam nut good or you won't keep adjustment for long. This should fix your problem.
