Default shorter belt No air pump

guys if i'm going to replace the orginal belt with a shorter one to cancel the air pumpis it neccesery to for the beltto be routed as it used to be?
If the belt was kind tight does it effect the performance of the engine?

If i baypassed the air pump would I notice white smoke comming out of the catbacks while flooring it?

Ok i've figured it out and the car runs great
but i still want to know ifthe belt was kind tight does it effectengines performance?
and bypassing the smog air would it cause white smoke coming out of theline while flooring it?

You shouldn't have white smoke coming out of your exhaust from just running a shorter belt. You should be using an 84.5 belt if the only thing you've bypassed is the smog pump.

As grumpyphillips stated you should be an 84.5 belt length and routed like so.


Check your tensioner it will tell you if your belt is to tight or not, it should be between the marks.
