Yes, you need to use the gasket sealent on the gaskets or else you may suffer leaks early.
Take the pump back off, clean off"ALL" the old gasket sealant, this takes time but insures the new sealant will not leak put a thin bead of sealant on the timing cover put a thin bead of sealant on the waterpump put the gasket on then install the water pump back onto the timing cover |

well i scraped all the old off an cleaned it real good an put the gasket silicone on the timing cover and the water pump and stuck the new gasket inbetween it this right
