hey all i bought an explorer motor from a 99, it has the gt40p heads i have done all the checking on what i will need and under stand all that, the question i have is the motor i bought about a year ago and put in there was supposed to be out of an mustang but yesterday when i took everything apart i looked up the casting number off the head it was a truck head not even anH.O head, so im going to take my b cam and put it in the explorer motorwith my trick flow intake and ud pulleys , how much you think im going to notice on a diff from the heads??

i dont know what your talking about, after 1987 ALL 302 and 351's had a E7TE head, and if it was older than that even still the mustangs all had the same heads as the trucks, station wagons, and old fart cars.

no matter which heads you *had*, your gonna like the GT40P's (your gonna need to use the exhaust manifolds from the explorer or P specific headers if you ever want to screw your spark plugs in.

what was the casting number you had?

the new heads should be F77E

bbk shortie headers work good just need a 90 deg boot on #7 everything is done and i love the gt-40p motor pulls good to 5800 and i can tell a good diff, and i got rid of my ristpin noise
