Default Soft pedal with brakes

What else can make the brake pedal get soft and go to the floor other than air in the sytem. Can a bad booster or m/c do it as well. I had a bad wheel cylinder that I replaced and bled the complete system. Looking for ideas on what to look into. Thanks

Either a leak or a bad m/c.

yes worn rear brake shoes whould cause the pedal to go to the floor. as would a M/C if the seals on the piston are worn out, the fluid can seep by the seals.

This is not my car, I will look at the hoses as well. Are the stainless steel flexible hoses really worth the extra cost on our cars for the front brakes. I want to find out which way to go before I change out my hoses.

How were the brakes before you replaced the cyl? Was the cyl just damp or was it causing the pedal to drop with a real bad leak? The reason I'm asking is that if the pedal did not go to the floor and feel mushy before you replaced the cyl, it stands to reason that there must still be air in the system somewhere. If the pedal was soft before, then it is possible it is the master, asuming there is no other leaks.
