Default 347 in a street strip car

while searching up some info on peoples 347 i came across a post and someone said that, a 347 will cause more wear on the engine in daily driving aspects? is that true even if a engine is built properly? i also have a set up im thinking of going with if anyone could give me a estimate on numbers? Also do you think a 347 is a good engine for a street strip car which will prolly see more street use but wont exactly be driven everyday? Thanks all

if its built correctly it will wear just like a regular motor. it just depends on how hard its drove. i had a 347 in my old 95

Dss bullet short block
afr 185cc heads
trick flow intake manifold
anderson fords high rev cam, and springs
supporting mods for ex fuel injectors maf sensor,
bbk longtubes and run it n/a for a while what type of numbers would this produce? ive thought of a 351 also but i flop back and forth sorry for the length

dss is nothing more than a machined block. i would buy a stroker kit from FullAuto and take it all to your machine shop and have them clean it up and clearence the block for it . it would be cheaper and you could put more money into the motor with the same result

yes do not buy one for dss, do as jasper says, or buy your kit from fullauto, then buy a dart IE 4 bolt main block from adperformance and then do the machine work, you'll thank me later

dss is a scam. they take stock blocks, do a bunch of machine work to them and claim they hold 800hp

too many ppl out there think the dss blocks are different from stockers, all i got to say is read the fine print,, buy yourself a A4, R block, or a dart adn dont waste your time

There is nothing wrong with running a 347 in a daily driver or a street/strip car.

i drive my car to and from work and college every day. Other than sitting in a crap load of traffic while driving a stick, there's nothing wrong with a d/d 347... just don't race every ricer you see.. its not worth it... But what i do love is setting off everyone's alarms in the parking garage at my new job!! beautiful
