You should be able to set idle and solve the surging/unstable idle problem w/out major modifications. I've set FMS alphabet cams (B, F, E, X), Stg 1-2, Schneider, CompCams....58, 65, 70, 80 mm TBs, w/out any comebacks.....all you have to do is use the free tools the EEC-IV system has, and follow the correct calibration procedures. Doing the gasket matching to the IAC/TB transfer holes is a good tip to follow BTW....but you need to make sure the EEC-IV system is failure codes free (from the important ones) first.....

Ifyou don't want to use the dremel toolto open up the holes you can get one of theseadjustable idle spacer kit on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...spagenameZWDVW

I had problems with idle too after I got the 351W motor, bought this spacer kit it's fine now easy to adjust.

For one im not trying to get performance out of the motor by taking it off, i was just trying to correct a surging idle to see what happend. now that i was informned on enlarging the holes i will try that thanks for the info. Yeah and for the people that dont know how to read forums please read them through better before you start trying to tear into me for somthing i did not even say. thank for the tip kilby i will try it, how much did you inlarge the holes?
I really didn't open them up that much probably added 1cm to diameter of each hole. Hope that helps!!
