Mine use to do the same thing when I first got my car, shifted hard into first. Change the fluid to a synthetic and keep it full. Your clutch could be out of adjustment as well.

After running my 86 real hard that happens sometimes, I had it happen last time at the track, only happensat the track after like my 5th run on a real hot day

I do know that it was ran hard, my dads friends suggested that someone may have been pushing it hard and missed 3rd and hit 1st by mistake and just stripped the gear out? Makes sense to me. But aslong as I only need to do the clutch im not worried as i mentioned it came with the car. But my dads friend also said its quite easy to just rebuild the whole thing and drop the new clutch in at the same time, anyone know the price of a rebuild kit for a 5 speed?
