I need to replace a header gasket, as it blew when a couple of bolts backed out a bit. I need to know if I can just unbolt the header from the head and slip in a new one, or will I have to disconnect the exhaust from the header as well?
its a lot easier to just unbolt the exhaust but also remember to put RTV sealant on the gasket to make sure you have a tight seal

use antisieze compund on the bolts, you can order gaskets from
www.summitracing.com
i bought dead soft aluminum gaskets which are reuseable and they were not very expensive, you may have a hard time rebolting the headers back up they say you may need to use a pry bar to get the holes to lign up right i actually had to use a dremmel to wallow out the holes a little longer, but otherwise good luck.

YES use antisieze never use locktight , all gaskets are going to blow just a matter of time . The meatl one do last longer . if you use lock tigh you will snap most of the bolts when you go to take them off . retighten the bolt when you change your oil an they wont blow gaskets as mutch
