Default temp question?

Just flushed the radiator, put in a 180* stat, new coolant and water wetter. Everything went fine, no leaks or coolant loss. I have after market gauges and my temp seems to run between 205-210* , is thisnormal? Car has never overheated and I still have the stock radiator, water pump and some mild mods. Car seemed to be running hot with stock gauge, so that is why I went ahead with new gauges and figured I would change coolant and stat.

How is the fan, does it always run at that temp, at idle or when cruising on the highway. Did you replace the radiator cap when you changed the coolant?

Mixed 60%water 40%coolant w/water wetter, stock fan is fine always runs, but I did not replace the cap, guess I'll give it a try. So from the response I'm getting, I guess this temp is too high? Water pump isn't making any noise, nor does it leak.

205-210 is the factory desired running temp, for emissions purposes, but with the 180 you should be running about 195, which would gain you a couple ponies.

Yup, mine runs around 195. What's the inside of the radiator look like. Any corrosion on the tubes?

When I look in the radiator I can see some white (what looks like corrosion?) on the ends of the tubes, but they are not blocked

that temp is fine... mine runs at a 190-210 on a regular basis.... cooler would be better but its not neccesary... for a stock engine it might be to warm tho... i had a h/c/i with lts at the temp
