I recently had a new heater core put in and it takes my car forever to warm up and when it gets to normal temp. it doesnt blow hot air, the air is kinda warm (better than nothing) but not warm enough. The guy that replaced the core couldnt reuse the heater hoses that go from the intake tube to the core so he used hoses that are much longer, each hose is like 12 inches long and is looped around in a circle going from the core to the intake, could this be the problem? Please help, its too cold to drive with hardly any heat, so the mustang stays in the stable a lot these days.

Sounds like a shoty install, shorten them, it would only cause a problem if the line kinks. What thermostat do you have

it worked good before i had the core replaced, it just leaked, it just wont get as hot as it used to. I guess i will have to get new hoses from the ford dealership because the heater hose at the parts store wont bend without kinking. I need pre bent hoses.

Thats what it sounds like to me, the hoses are kinking up on ya. They sell the nice blue set from Blue Oval, or 50Resto that has all of the hoses in it, and let me tell ya, they fit everything really nice.

Expensive, but very nice hoses.

None that are cheap, you can get the original molded hoses from the Dealer and probably NAPA.
