Got The New Car....but...(Possible Clutch problem :()....
Well, I got the car today, and it was an insane amount of torque (even with the stock gears...also i'm going from a sunfire to this lol). Anyways...I'm having a big problem already =/. I drove it home all the way from Kitchener (2.5 hour drive) and it wouldn't go into gear for over half the trip! I would have to shut the car off, put it in first and then go again, everytime, also having issues going into 2nd and 3rd. At first thought you guys would probably think this is a clutch issue, but the guy (he seemed PRETTY honest) told me that the clutch, pressure plate, sycros, and Throw Out Bearing were all new before he got it, and he only put 8000km's on it. Here's the real question...the clutch cable is right on the header, and it IS burning, it's burnt right through the coating and you can see open wire right by the header...when I press the clutch you can see the wire explode (so to say) you can see it pull apart, now my question is...if that isn't under pressure (with the coating burnt off) will that cause the clutch not to release? Also why will it go into gear when the car is off, but not when running??
Sorry about the length, just tried to put as much info as possible in there
Thanks
PS- I'll have pics up tomorrow

My old car was the same way. I had an adjustable cable and whatnot and it got to a point where I could hardly get it into gear. The cable was shot. I'd replace and re-route that cable asap and you should be set.

you need a new cable for sure if its burned, also dont forget to grease the new one and route it right or you will be buying another one soon after that ones installed.
