i have a 1987 gt 5.0 it has 3:73gears, b&m shift kit, cold air kit, msd coil cap an rotor, 9mm fms plug wires, cat back dyno max with h-pipe. the sending unit for the gas gage took a **** so i thought well in the tank i would put a bigger pump in. i have a holly 255 pump and a holly adjustabiel regulater. i put the regulater on last weekend and thats it now the car is running way to rich i think (if your stoped at a stop light your eyes will start to brun an water) but i have the pressure turned way down. the car runs ok but has a small surge to it im not sure what the pressure is set to right now but if i turn it up to the 32-40psi that it should the car runs very rough and smoke black smoke very very bad i need HELP i have no idea whats wrong any help i can get would be great thanks and sorry about my spelling thanks again

the psi is set at 20 right now car runs good and hard but idles ruff and it still smokes alittle black smoke if i turn it up to 35-40psi were it should be it runs really ruff and smokes alot i think it still getting to much fuel but im not sure i need HELP any help will work

the pressure should be at 39 psi with the vac line disconnected...

just because your eyes are burning, doesnt mean your running rich..

its probably your engine swearing at you for not doing anything right

well what can i do to fix it would a throtlbody help

installing more parts wont fix anything.. it will just make the troubleshooting worse..

have you tried re-installing your stock fuel pressure regulator?

not yet it was kinda a pain

any time you install something... then the car runs like crap... uninstall it and return it back the way it was...

general... good rule to follow
