Default clicking noise + speedometer failure?

after driving about 10 minutes in my car there seems to be this clicking noise that sounds like its the catylac converter shaking crazy but it seems to go with the acceloration and i have just got magna flows and got my thing smogged and he said the timing was 10 degrees off so i said fix it then. so he reset the timing and ever since then its kind of been really really noisy but im not sure what the problem is. then on top of that im on the way to my N/A class and the speedometer stops workin while im going about 85 so i had to drive slo as **** on the way home any quick fixes or ideas on what i can do for both probblems? thanks!

check your speedo cable. it goes to your tranny, easy to see from the bottom of your car. when mine broke i got a weird noise i would accelrate, it was the cables spinning around lol

most likely your speedo gear is stripped.
the cheap little plastic gear will need to be replaced.
after time the teeth get brittle and start breaking off.

just follow the cable into the tranny( by the cats) and undo the one screw holding the
cable and sensor in the tranny. and replace the gear, not expensive, about 15-20 bucks.
