rebuilt 331 cranks but won't start
i have bought a new bottom end 331 put everything back together. couldnt get it started it just cranked. I have fuel pressure, spark. i had a mechanic come over and he say's my injectors have power but no ground. In hast i ordered a new computer without thinking from a junkyard. I have 24 # injectors with MAS conversion, my cmputer has this thing attacted to it called a Ford motorsport powerpack. I don't know what that is, i bought the car already modified. can i use this stock computer to swap it out? please help.

check to see if you have your grounds on the back of the drivers side cyl head,there should be on the runs from the head to the body and another that run from the head to the engine harness."i think it a orange wire" like said before i would pull the power pack and see what happens or try a different computer.You might also want to check the big black and white connector behind the upper intake.

the way the EFI system work on a stang is... with the key on, 12v power is supplied to ALL 8 FUEL INJECTORS. when the time comes for each injector to fire, the ECM will switch on the GROUND, thus completing the circuit, and firing the injector.... a GOOD mechanic would have hooked up a noid light... no just probed for power.
Check to make sure your distributor is installed properly.

In response, He did hook up a noid light. I have a couple more questions if you don't mind. Connected to my computer is a Ford Motorsport power pack? what is this? Does it have anything to do with my MAF conversion? And lastly, i bought a computer from a junk yard, but i have 24# injectors, will the stock computer work with these? I really appreciate any feed back. I am aware that i don't know squat and that is why i'm here to help me learn. thnx again. oh yea i forgot to mention that before this problem i had a problem with the exciter wire, we cut it and bybassed the neutral safety switch. (this was before i hooked up the orange ground for the computer) this made the car able to crank. Could that be the problem now that i have that ground connected?
