Default 2 tech related questions

I own a 94 mustang gt 5.0. I have factory headers with a non catted bbk x pipe running to magnaflow mufflers. When I first start my mustang up and drive down the road a little ways and go to shift and have the clutch pedal totally depressed I get a backfire sound and a popping sound that follows. Can anyone tell me what that is coming from. I am pretty sure its a vacuum line cuz my engine from time to time revs about 100 rpm and then stabalizes again.

Also I want to convert my factory brakes to the cobra brakes. Would I just need to purchase brakes, rotors, and calipers, Or do I have to change brake lines and such so there is enough brake pressure to squeeze the new calipers.

Thanks whatever you can offer up is great for either problem.

Default RE: 2 tech related questions

When you press in the clutch and the engine is revving down it kind of pops? This is normal for a O/R X-pipe. They all do it, so don't be alarmed. The only reason why your cat may studder, (or go up and down by 100rpm or so) is either because you have a dirty TB, the IAC is dirty, or just because of the new lack in backpressure from no cats. It isn't stalling or anything right? How does it run overall?
