im getting a 302 efi engine and transmission out of an early 90's ford f-150, its set up for fuel injection but looks like a diferent intake set up then my 89 lx what are the differences between the two engines and what kind of numbers do u get out of the 150 engine (hp/lb-ft)

it has an automatic also, colum shifter, how hard is it to convert to on the floor and is this transmission worth keeping if i drop the engine into something else, worth getting a shift kit

if the engine looks diff it probably isnt a 5.0 HO, just a non-HO. stock the numbers will be lower than the mustang ones (225hp and 300lbs tq) but if you are looking to do a HCI swap the block and internals should be just as good

well i was thinking about stripping it down from efi and maybe doing a head swap if i can find some cheap heads and droppping it into someting, preferbly an older mustang

It should work then.
Just use an ignition system compatable with the wiring of the older car........
