Default Another CAM Question

I have a 1994 GT,

Whats the biggest cam I can go on a stock valve train. I have a full exhaust, CAI, PULLEYS, MSD coil, cap, and wires, smog delete, and will be installing24 lbMAF sensor with injectors, throttle body spacer, 70mm throttle body, and upgrade rockers to 1.6s. I just want a good CAM for my current setup and will be buying a top end combo kitlater next year after I get gears, and ETC. Also too, how to you adjust the timing on these cars, isn't it controlled off the crank shaft? Any help would be appreicated.

Default RE: Another CAM Question

As far as adjusting timing = pull the spout connecter and rotate the distributor and aim a timing light down at the crank by the pointer......and with a 94 stang it's not about how big a cam you can go on the stock valvetrain that I'd be worried about.....more importantly it's about how computer friendly the cam is as the 94-95 mustangs computers are very touchy when it comes to cam changes with aggressive profiles but a all around good choice is the steeda #19 cam designed for 94-95's in mind.....anyway you look ay it witha cam change you need to properly match valvetrain components like springs or you'll never get the intended performance out of the cam by short cutting.......if you don't like the steeda 19 and you choose a set up such as tfs stage 1 be prepared to have to get a custom tune burned or installed to address the hunting idle issues.

i believe you can get away with a B303 with stock springs - but that is PUSHING the limits. pretty sure it would work with the ctock computer, but im sure one of the SN95 guys could give you a better answer on that.
