Idle surge after warm start up

RE: Idle surge after warm start up
Joel5.0-I tested theKOEO and I got one code;34 and my Haynes book says "EVP voltage above closed unit" What exactly does that mean? On my continuos memory it gives me code 85; "canister purge circuit'" I'm pretty sure I know what that means because I don't have that purge sensor even hooked up any more. I'll check the KOER codes on Friday but is there any thing you can tell me about code 34? Thanxs againfor the excellent advise on getting that checked out

RE: Idle surge after warm start up
34 - EGR Valve Position Voltage Above Closed Limit of 0.67 volts (O,R)
It means the EVP sensor is reading too high in the EGR closed position. It could be caused by either the EGR valve having some carbon residue causing it not to close all the way down (closed position too high), or a bad EVP sensor. You could try by removing and cleaning the EGR valve pintle/seat area and check if voltage goes below .67 vdc....if it doesn't, the EVP sensor is at fault.
Code 34 will cause the system to delete the EGR function, and provided the valve is not staying partially open mechanically, should not cause any driveability problems. LUK
