Default strange idle

lately ive been noticing that my car seems like it has a mind of its own. when the car is in neutral or park it sometimes revs itself up to about 1500 and sits there until i shift it to drive or reverse. and sometimes when i do shift into drive or reverse the car stalls. it dosent do this all the time just once in a while. so what would cause this? thanks for any help guys

Start at your vacume tree, then follow each of those lines to their designated vacume point, theyre 12 year old rubber lines and probably dry rotted, I had to replace half of mine and my car only had 50,000 miles.

by vacume tree u mean that piece on the driver side by the master brake cylinder right?

Aye, check all your lines, make sure theyre not dry rotted, make sure they fit on the posts snug, if not either replace the line or tighten it down with a wire tie if the line is worth keeping.
