Default Annoying Rattle

On my stang, there's an annoying exhaust rattle. Could something in the muffler be messed up or what could it be?

check and see if the muffler or exhaust pipes are hitting your fuel line bracket on the rear end of the car closest to the muffler. I know on my 94 5.0 I did my exhaust on my own and I had to push my fuel lines up and remount my bracket cuz my x pipe and mufflers were hitting the bracket and at low rpm and idle and sometimes even higher speeds I would hear an annoying rattle from the back of my car from pipe vibration on that bracket. Just something that you might consider especially if you installed it yourself.

Yea just look under it and try to see ecxactly how close the exhaust is to any othere parts/body.. Because i installed mine and the pipes were right up against the body over the rear end and i had to readjust it..

well....i'll try that but I doubt i'll have time because I'm in college and have nothing to jack-up my car with. its too low for me to fit under there. but as for the mufflers, idk when they were put on, but i'm gonna get some new one's on and look at that time if anything's hitting the lines or brackets.

It's probably not your muffler bearings. Just trust me on this one. It could be quite a few things though. Where does th sound appear to be coming from? In the midpipe or closer to the mufflers? Is it only when you go over bumps or is it constant? How about when you're not moving and just at idle? Also what does it sound like? I know it's hard to describe sounds, but is it like a deep metal on metal sound? Or is it lighter, like the sound an empty can of spray paint makes when you shake it? Or is it grinding?

it sounds like in the midpipe and it has a lighter sound to it, but some random times it sounds like deep metal on metal. also, you can barely hear it at idle, but roll like 5 mph and you can hear it...especially if you go next to a guide-rail, like on a highway.

Are you sure it's the exhaust? Aftermarket midpipe or stock? Cats or no?

BBK h-pipe and no cats. if I could get a clip I could but I only have a cell phone and its hard to get it while moving. plus, I took it to a mechanic and he said its the exhaust, but i dont think he knew what he's talking about.
