Intake removal?
Hey I was wondering, If I got 1.7 roller rockers, would I have to remove my upper Intake to get to them.. I have never had this engine apart before, but don't see any other way to be able to get to them.. Just want to be clear before I start taking the intake off...

RE: Intake removal?
Yeah take the upper of. Its only six bolts, throttle linkage, a couple plugs and vaccum lines. Its a lot easier then it looks. Once ya did it you realize that it wasnt so bad.

RE: Intake removal?
Thanks for the info, BTW, I need a new gasket when I take it off right??? Do I need to use any gasket maker or anything? Or just the Gasket... Curious, thanks...

RE: Intake removal?
I have reuse my upper intake gasket over and over. Just when you get it running check for leaks. You can use carb cleaner and spray it around the gasket area to see if there is a change in idle. If there is then there is a leak. if not then your ok.... Goodluck

RE: Intake removal?
Yeah, I think I will replace mine as I am not sure if it seals correctly now, but I might as well while im at it. It's cheap enough.

RE: Intake removal?
That is what I do I just don't like doing things twice.I always buy new gaskets thats just the way I was taught.
