Default swapping t5 tailshaft housings

i have two t-5s one is a 92 and one is an 88 with destroyed input shaft.
the 92 someone cracked offthe tab on the 5th gear syncro retainer.
so i swapped over the 5th gear syncro assembly from the 88 to the 92.

Now what i need to know isshould i swap the tailshaft housing also due to the slight difference in the surface that the 5th assembly comes in contact with.
I dont know if the 88 tailshaft housing is different in any other way.
I dont think ill have problems with 5th but will i have any problems with reverse? ( such as the slider assembly that controls 5th and reverse) will the 88 tailshaft housing have a diff design where it would stop the slider from traveling back far enough to engage reverse?

or should i jsut keep the 92 on and roll with it?

there is a difference between the 2. the little oil slinger thing on the end of the countershaft gear may not work in the other. there was a site that explained it, i'll try to find it
