just anm off the shelf 3000 stall. i figured it would be what i needed because i start to build power at 3000 RPMs

not all converters are equal, EVERYTHING about the car plays apart in the stall, the same converter from your car might stall a 3500 on mine or even at 2500, custom from a good company is the only way to go. min for a decent/good converter is $450, a very good one is the 1k and a little higher.

thats where our problem is iv read alot about people putting in of the shelf stalls and not getting it to stall where it said. With a stall it is the best to go custom made for your car so it will stall where it is supposed to. I dont really think there is anything you can do to make the one you have stall any higher. I guess if you aint happy with it you can sell it and use the money for a custom one.
