Hey Question
I have a 1987 Mustang GT T-Top 5.0 ..
had an accident awhile back... hood flew open maybe some of you remember -- just wondering...the cowl plate -- am I better off getting it removed and then replaced with a new one (it has to be removed with a weld) or get it banged back up and smoothed out?? if you guys forgot here's what the cowl plate looks like http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../IMAGE_213.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../IMAGE_211.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../IMAGE_215.jpg |
RE: Hey Question
this is a common problem with these cars..I have 2 of mine the same way...1@ 75mph put a nice dent on my top as well..to replace the cowl is some work..using a hyd. dent puller can help or the new tack weld puller which leaves no hole....friend of mine used the blowup bags to push someof the dent out...

RE: Hey Question
there is a break in the paint too...guess it would have to be repainted....but I want the thing to look like the accident never happened... will that work with a dent puller?? it is alluminum my guess is it won't look too great

RE: Hey Question
i would just get a new one thats not worth repairing... and the paint chips iwll have to be repainted, it would be the only way to fix em
