x pipe gives the popping sound on decel
h pipes do too... popping sound isnt a factor of a midpipe really

ORIGINAL: 91hatchgt

X-pipe sounds better.
yep they do i will admit... you get a better sound outta an x pipe... if you just wanna be loud then an h pipe is just fine but you get a better tone out of a x-pipe hands down.... what what are you looking for old muscle car sound or a racecar tone sound??

ORIGINAL: 85GTsleeper

ugh here, the x pipe will give you a higher pitched noise somewhat of a european sports car (kind of), H pipe is more of the old classic hotrod low grumbling throaty sound.
i agree with this statment

Listen to clips and decide what you like better. I had two other fox's with h-pipe and liked them. On my current car i use a x-pipe and like it even better.

Personally im a fan of the O-pipe. not many people have them but it looks sick! deffinitely an original look. I recommend to anyone to get one of these bad boys. heres the website, order now! http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main...;products_id=2

with longtubes I'm having to go with an X-Pipe cause its making a whistling sorta sound with an H-Pipe being on there. at least I'll have both incase I dont like the other.

I like my H-pipe because it has more of the agressive mean type muscle car sound to it the x pipe i don't like all that much because like 85gt said it sounds to much like a ricer lol.

+1 on the x pipe....

sounds better and better performance numbers. if it helps, nascar are performance beasts that flow through an x pipe... not sure if you like performance or not though...

Then you have never heard a 5.0with an X-pipe. It does not sound anything like a "ricer."

It is a much nicer tone and sounds much cleaner than an H IMO.
