WHO KNOWS HOW TO HOOK UP BAT.DISCONNECT SWITCH?
the painless wiring relay has 4 wires one two alt.one to power side of master switch
and one to starter side master switch.last is ground......then i'm supposed to run a wire from the starter side to the starter, and run the power side to the pos.battery....
i'm also suppose to take the original alt wire and discard it.???so do i keep the battery wire on the sillinoid?is this relay controlling my power supply from alt. to the battery
for charging?

yes the one side of the post goes to the sillinoid and the other goes to the battery.. and then you have the jumper from the alternator to the battery side and it will kill everything.. hope this helps..

RE: WHO KNOWS HOW TO HOOK UP BAT.DISCONNECT SWITCH?
I hate hooking these things up i had to hook mine up on my 67 to run at the track.. big extra pain in the a$$.. the only thing that changes in your wiring should be that you should be breaking the positive battery cable in 2.. then you have a solinoid side and a battery side of your switch.. now if it is a 2 post style switch then you will hook the wire from the alternator to the battery side of the switch... and this should kill everything...

so you don't have to run a wire to the starter?

i got this relay so nothing gets burned up i guess......it's a summit two post switch.i wish i could show the skimatics, but i had to send it back, cause it was a 35 amp rating relay. thanks for having patience with me,and yes this is a pain in the ****!!

RE: WHO KNOWS HOW TO HOOK UP BAT.DISCONNECT SWITCH?
Ok, this is how I hooked mine up.
Placed the switch wherever the hell i wanted it.
Took the positive off my battery and cut off the end so I could install a new end piece on it so I can bolt it to the switch.
This is still running to the starter Solenoid.
Bought some more 0 gauge? probably like 3-4 feet.
and Ran that from the battery to the switch on the other terminal.
Now after the obvious is all hooked up, you're going to need to run a wire from your alternator back to the switch.
So the car actually dies when the switch is flipped/turned
I believe it's a black wire with yellow along the side of it, should be running to your starter solenoid.
Just run that wire back to the shutoff switch and you're done!

RE: WHO KNOWS HOW TO HOOK UP BAT.DISCONNECT SWITCH?
i guess it's the painless wiring thats giving me a pain in the neck? let's see if i can translate this.
1). pos wire that was originally went to the battery goes to master switch terminal......check
2)then run a wire from same terminal to the pos.side post (obviously)...check
3)is tricky cause summit said i needed this relay........4 wires ground, alt.,one to pos.side post, and one for starter side.
is summit trying to save my butt,or or they trying to rip me off?

It's most likely an extra saftey feature.
