Default ? will a increase in hp hurt my times cus of rev limit

Hey guys, I have a question. The last time i went to the strip i was making 386 hp and i ran a 12.6 at 114. but i was at 5900 rpm at the trap. My question is will an increase in horse power make me run the same times because i have an msd with a 6000rpm rev limiter. Im now making 476 hp and am wodering if im actually going to be hitting the rev limiter before I reach the trap. Oh and i was in 4th gear when I was heading though and i heard its possible to break the t-5 if u shift in to 5that those rpm. If i am going to be hitting the rev limiter should i change my rear end gears to 3.55

Wouldn't it be easier/cheaper to just change/increase the rev limiter?.........

If you have an 8k chip or pill, I dont know much about those boxes, i run the digital and it has 2 rev limiters, use it, i would think you are useing a tach with a shift light, if not you should, just set the shift lite to where you want to shift.

you need to find out where your powerband ends, first of all. get the car on a dyno and pull a few runs.
if you dont have the lightweight internals that are required for a high rev motor, you shouldn't be going high RPMs.

i have a shift light hooked up to the msd 6al btm and ive made more then 20 dyno runs and have found the area right about 5700 is where it starts to die off so we set the light at about 5500 so id have a second to shift

ok then. forget about changing pills. your motor is what it is, you need to change the drivetrain now.
talk to some friends, or even people here. see what they say. 355's might put you where you need to be, 327's might be better.
