Default 5.0 or 4.6?

I guess my question here would be, what do you think is built better and would last longer? The 94-95 5.0 or the 96-98 4.6? I list those years because that's the price range and my favorite body style

I currently own a 93 Ford Probe GT 5 speed with a ZE swap engine, (200hp) It's okay, but I feel the need to have that V8 sound and rear wheel drive. From what I've seen the 4.6 has more power, but some say the 5.0 does. Lets press the issue. haahaha By the way, I'm new and hi everyone!

i would say 5.0 all the way. its a push rod motor much easier to work on. there are tons and tons of parts for these cars as well. my engine teacher was a machinest for 20 and he said the 5.0 is built much better than the 4.6 and he has built both for lots of different people.

The 96-98 4.6s are bigger pigs and more expensive to mod, the only way to get good power from a 2v 4.6 is boost. 5.0 ftw.

Awsome, thanks for the advice. I got a buddy that had a 97 Mustang gt with a 5.0 swap, he said he liked it much more than his 4.6, thanks for the advice once again fellas!

The stock 4.6L block is toughter, but they're a lot more expensive to mod. It's easier to get power out of a 5.0
